Join us for a heartwarming Father's Day celebration that combines family, fun, and friendly competition! The Denton Senior Centers invite fathers, children, and father figures to participate in our annual Father's Day Pool Tournament.

This is more than just a tournament – it's a celebration of fatherhood, connection, and community. Whether you're a pool shark or a beginner, everyone is welcome to participate and have fun.

Juneteenth is a celebration that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, the Union soldiers landed at Galveston, Texas, with news that the war was over and that the enslaved were now free. Denton has celebrated Juneteenth annually since 1891. Previous celebrations may have occurred but were not recorded.

The festivities will span from June 14th to June 19th, with live performances on Friday, June 14th, Saturday, June 15th, and Wednesday, June 19th. Commemorate Juneteenth with music, dance, and cultural expressions. The featured artists represent a diverse array of genres and styles, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Make Music Day brings joy, inspires creativity, and transforms communities. It celebrates and promotes the natural music maker in all of us, regardless of ability. Make Music Day events turn sidewalks and streets into impromptu stages; lets amateur musicians share their passion and gain confidence; and gives established artists in all genres a chance to perform for new audiences. Special Make Music Day initiatives, like free instrument lessons and “Mass Appeal” events, invite everyone to join–even if they’ve never picked up an instrument before in their lives. And for those whose life’s work is to create more music-makers, it’s the perfect opportunity to spread the message of musical participation.

Join us for an evening of country music and dancing, specifically designed for older adults. It's a chance to have fun and socialize while enjoying the music and dance styles typical of country culture. *The event is multi-generational, so patrons can bring guests.

Join the Staff at the Senior Center as they close out this summer with a splash! We will be celebrating beloved icon Jimmy Buffett with island vibes and good times. Staff will have themed music, dances, and to play or just grab a mocktail and put your toes in the water. Send off summer in style!
